LOVE

They were married
They had been for some time (so long...so long)
The responsibility weighed them down
Like a ton of bricks - or - a garbage truck
(heavy...heavy)
But,...they loved each other very much
They still desired to touch
(kiss kiss...pant pant...kiss kiss)
They really loved with such
Devotion (emotion)
Though it might have been a crutch
Really
She'd had someone on the side (or on top
so to speak)
(for years) kiss kiss...pant pant...kiss kiss
She was tired of trying to hide
(such fears) (tears)
Thy didn't know each other
the way they could
They didn't treat each other
the way they should
they didn't love each other
Very good, the way they could, or should..
or would?
Who oh who could this couple be???
Horror of horror!!!! YOU AND ME.........

SOME LOVERS
© 2004 Jordan Margolis
This is a love story
It starts where most end
with two people falling in love
but they don't live happily ever after
for love never follow a script
not anyone's, not anytwo's
There's no question
that they love each other
They Do.
The problem is
as usual, possessiveness.
She should be to Him alone
and He, in turn, to Her
He "cheated" on her, once
Why? She still can't understand
She "cheapened" herself, once
He thinks that makes him less a man
He was tipsy
happy
and IT made him feel great
She was charmed
flattered
IT made anxieties abate
One night stands
for both of them
yet, somehow, things had changed
If they'd been together
on those nights
neither would have desired a stranger
but each was alone
The sex was ego-gratifying
biologically satisfying
moaning panting
parting sighing
then each was alone again
those strangers posed no threat
they vanished as quickly as the sweat
But our lovers were upset
Though neither loved the other less
Emotions never make much sense
each felt hurt
betrayed
and empty
for a while
And today
They're still together
holding hands in springtime weather
Yet each fears (s)he might need someone else again
Who are our lovers?
Need I say?
I think you know them.
