WEDDING WORDS
© 2004 Jordan Margolis

JORDAN:

Dancing eyes so blue
they reflect as a bubbling brook
the spacious sky above towering trees,
pillars of the world

Widened eyes - so true
they respond as perfect mirrors
to excitement and sorrow,
the spirals of life

Closed eyes - so over due
they rest, peaceful as the moon
which acts as guard and guides the tide
to caress the earth

These eyes - These two
they belong to my beloved
these twinkling moons lighten my spirits
and I bask in Love's silhouette

HOLLY:

Hold me and we'll brave the future
Help me grow in womanhood
Hide the fears of just beginning
Hear me, love, I call your name

Lift my heart when I am troubled
Let our spirits fuse as one
Listen to my inner feelings
Laugh with me, I call your name

Brighten up my life by smiling
Bare your soul to me alone
Build your dreams but honor mine
Be my friend, I call your name

We can learn each other's secrets
When the night spreads out its wings
Where we are, it does not matter
Husband, call me by your name.

WE CALL HER LINDSAY
© 2004 Jordan Margolis

Searching eyes - so new
They look out at a world without suspicion
Only curiosity
and wonder

Jewel-like eyes - so blue
Colored like the sky which stretches
above, like the life
now unfolding

Silent eyes - no clue
to what they(ll witness
or whom they(ll adore
beyond us

These eyes - those two
They belong to our daughter, Lindsay
And our eyes - just stare
wet with tears of love and joy.

HELLO WORLD, MY NAME IS JORI
© 2004 Jordan Margolis
( SUNG ON THE OCCASION OF JORI ALANA*S HEBREW NAMING CEREMONY)

Hello World
Her name is Jori
A little girl
A wondrous story
First, our Lindsay Jill
taught us how to smile
I tell you, what a thrill
Just to hug your child
And when she calls you...Dad.

Hello World
Her name is Jori
A little girl
A wondrous story

Til she learns to talk
Her eyes say everything
Soon, she will start to walk
I'll push her on a swing
But then she'll meet some...lad

Remember Gramps
Remember Gramma
They both were champs
of real life drama

This Shabbat I know
Tho we can't see them here
They love this baby so
I feel their presence near
I hope we've made them glad

Hello World
Her name is Jori
A family pearl
Who's bound for glory

Hello World    Hello World     Hello World
My name is Jori.

Now I see - There.
The glint in the shape at just the right angle
Sharp and alert. (Of Course)

Now I hear - That's it.
Reflective, connective; bouncing on echos
Then laughter. (But Of Course)

Now I feel - Here.
Tomorrow and always; huggable, lovable
and safe (All Right)

Now I know - Yes.
I am my daughter, she is her mother/father
Aging. (Very Well)

ONE FROM THE AGES
© 2004 Jordan Margolis

That's new
Or is it?
Looks familiar -
After all

Watch now
How did she - ?
Just can -
As always

    Skipping by
    Freshingly light
          Dancin
          Dance out
    Sky-bound on air
    Anythere

So much of us
And quite before?
Time to fly
Agelessly
